Financial Transparency Recognized Internationally
In its report The Transparency Dividend, published in July 2026, the Institute of International Finance (IIF) assesses investor relations practices and sovereign debt transparency standards worldwide. With a score of 41.7 out of 50, Côte d’Ivoire ranks significantly above the global average (37/50) and is among the top five African countries, alongside Rwanda, South Africa, Kenya, and Egypt. This performance is particularly noteworthy given that this is the country’s first participation in the assessment.
This ranking reflects the progress achieved under the investor relations programme led by the General Directorate of Financing (DGF). The IIF notably highlights the quality of the economic and financial information made available to investors, the regular dialogue maintained with markets through bilateral meetings and conferences, as well as the establishment of a self-assessment process for the investor relations framework, identified as an international best practice.
The report also emphasizes the key role of financial transparency in strengthening market confidence. Clear, regular, and credible communication helps reduce the risk premium embedded in debt costs, broaden the investor base, and support the stability of sovereign credit ratings. More broadly, it enhances the country’s perception among international investors by reinforcing Côte d’Ivoire’s image as a reliable, well-governed investment destination committed to sound public financial management.
Building on this recognition, the DGF will continue its efforts to further strengthen its investor relations framework, notably through improved data dissemination, the development of English-language documentation, and the consolidation of continuous dialogue with international investors. This momentum reflects the authorities’ commitment to sustainably strengthening market confidence in Côte d’Ivoire’s sovereign signature.
