Under the chairmanship of Lanciné Diaby, Director General of Financing (DGF), a working session was held on June 12, 2025, at the Aniaman Building in Plateau, with the participation of Fabrice Toka, an international expert appointed by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
The meeting was part of UNDP’s technical assistance to the Ivorian authorities in the area of financial rating strategy. During the session, Mr. Toka presented the key priorities of his support mission, aimed at strengthening the quality of dialogue with credit rating agencies and improving Côte d’Ivoire’s sovereign risk profile. He also emphasized the importance of adopting a structured and proactive approach to credit ratings, aligned with the macroeconomic and fiscal reforms currently being implemented. The objective is to strengthen the technical and institutional foundations that contribute to a more favorable assessment of the country’s risk profile by international stakeholders.
In addition, the discussions identified several areas for improvement, including enhancing financial transparency, strengthening the governance of economic data, and better showcasing the Government’s reform efforts to development partners.
This meeting reflects the continued commitment of the Ivorian authorities to strengthening the country’s financial credibility, improving perceptions among international partners, and ensuring optimal access to financing resources within an evolving regional environment.
