With a net overall increase of CFAF 814.4 billion, the 2023 State budget was revised to CFAF 12,508.8 billion, compared with the initially approved CFAF 11,694.4 billion. The supplementary finance bill relating to this revised budget was presented on December 14, 2023, by the Minister of Finance and Budge, Adama Coulibaly, and subsequently adopted by members of the Economic and Financial Affairs Committee (CAEF) of the National Assembly.
The revised budget is intended to support the continued implementation of the 2021–2025 National Development Plan (PND), which is being reinforced by a new 2023–2026 Economic and Financial Program agreed with the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Under this program, the IMF committed substantial support to Côte d’Ivoire, complemented by budget support from the World Bank and the French Development Agency (AFD).
Minister Adama Coulibaly explained that the Organic Budget Law reflects the Government’s commitment to implementing policies and reforms aimed at promoting economic and social development, with the ultimate objective of improving the well-being of the entire population.
